On Friday, October 21, 2011 at 7 pm, Zuill Bailey will perform at PS 321.

Zuill Bailey is considered one of the premier cellists in the world; his combination of artistry and technical wizardry complement his engaging personality. An active soloist, Bailey has been featured with the symphony orchestras of Chicago, San Francisco, Israel, Minnesota, Indianapolis, Dallas, Louisville, Honolulu, Milwaukee, Nashville, Toronto and Utah, among other leading orchestras around the world. He has also appeared at the Kennedy Center, the United Nations, Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, and Carnegie Hall.

Bailey’s extensive discography includes his recording of Bach Cello Suites (Telarc), which reached the No. 1 spot on the Classical Billboard Charts. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the Peabody Conservatory and the Juilliard School. He is the Artistic Director of El Paso Pro Musica, Artistic Director of the Sitka Summer Music Festival and Series, and Professor of Cello at the University of Texas, El Paso. In addition, Bailey has had recurring television series roles on HBO and NBC.

Zuill Bailey’s sound has been described as “rich, like dark chocolate . . . strong and direct” (San Francisco Classical Voice). At PS 321, he will be playing selections from the Bach Cello Suites.

If not possible, you do not need to print out your tickets. Please stop at the Will Call table in the school lobby at least 15 minutes before the show for concert entry.
